Contentment can be hard to find. Much of the time we search for contentment in things, achievements or relationships.

This course consists of teachings by Acharya Eve Rosenthal. Along with selected readings, Acharya Rosenthal discusses how, with meditation and contemplation practice, we can relax with ourselves as we are and appreciate simple human experience.

Facilitated by Susanne and Lou Keniley, this course provides an exploration of genuine contentment, the foundational views of the Buddhist teachings, and meditation in action for daily life. With meditation practice, we can learn to appreciate ourselves and simple human experiences, free from self-aggression. Difficult emotions and the challenges of life can be met with gentleness, steadiness, and humor.

The course will include video teachings, meditation practice, and discussion. Introductory meditation instruction will be provided.

This is the first class in the Way of Shambhala curriculum. It offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of how the stability and wisdom cultivated through this practice can expand to benefit the world around us.

No prior experience with meditation is necessary, and people from all religious traditions, or who have no religious preference are welcome to participate.

Open to all.
