SOLSTICE in the Mountains!

Join us for a day of community, celebration, hike and potluck Saturday June 23 in the Manzano Mountains of Cibola National Forest, Cedro Peak.  The group campground is located at an elevation of about 7,400 feet.  It is eight miles south off of I-40.  It is nestled in a pinon pine and juniper forest amid the arid, hilly landscape.  There is a mountain biking trail system (intermediate and advanced) and a variety of hiking offering expansive views.

If you are coming for the day, meet at the Robin group campground any time after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.  We will plan on hiking together at 2 p.m. followed by a potluck and solstice celebration around 5pm.  And/or camp with us overnight!  In your tent, camper or van (20' maximum length) on the evening of Friday, 22nd and/or evening of Saturday, 23rd.

What to Bring:  Pot Luck to share, sunscreen, hat, layers, rainjacket, food for other than potluck, water.

No water, electricity, firewood/charcoal are available at the site.  Accessible vault toilets and bear proof trash receptacles are provided.  Bears frequent the area so use appropriate containers for food and garbage.  Leave No Trace ethics.
