"By relaxing the mind, you can reconnect with that primordial, original ground, which is completely pure and simple.  Out of that, through the medium of your perceptions, you can discover magic, or drala."

** UPDATED**. Drala Meditation Hike: TECOLOTE Trail

    Saturday, June 9, 2018

Unfortunately, due to extreme drought conditions in the Santa Fe Forest, the area has been closed indefinitely to protect the forest and the public.  So, we will not be able to hike the Las Conchas trail for the meditation hike.]

We will instead hike the Tecolote Trail in the Sandias. This is a 2.6 mile trail with gorgeous views and hopefully, wildflowers in bloom. The trail has 400 ft of elevation gain so make sure to bring good hiking shoes so you will have a good footing on the sloped portions of the trail.

Bring water, a hat, sunscreen, a jacket, lunch and snacks, and a kneeling pad or something else to sit on for occasional stops for sitting or meditation.

Dogs on leash are are allowed on this trail. If your dog is well behaved and understand mindfulness, feel free to bring "Fido"  along. If you bring your dog, be prepared to drive to the trail head as others who will be driving may not have a "dog friendly" vehicle.

Hike difficulty: Easy (3 miles; 400 ft of elevation gain)

     When: Saturday, June 9, 2018

    Meeting Time: 8:00 AM

    Return time: 12:00pm (approx.)

    (Total drive time: 1.0 hours)

Meeting location: Albuquerque Shambhala Center, 1102 Mountain Rd NW, Albuquerque

NOTE - due to a Shambhala Training Level this weekend, please park on the street instead of occupying parking spaces.  Thank you!
